I am fairly new to hosting and I recently hosted a lovely family from India who had a friend who acted as interpreter. They did not leave a review because they did not speak English and the friend booked for them using their email.

I also had a family from Spain who live in our area, booked for a month, while they moved house and felt they didnt need to leave a review as they have recommended my place to friends.

How does this affect my rating and what can I do about non- English speaking guests who do not leave reviews?

@Aldean0 You should always try to convince your guests to leave a review and tell them how important this is for you. Not speaking English isn't an excuse as Airbnb is translated for each country where the booking was done. I actually went through such situation with English speaking people, it seems some people don't really care about leaving reviews. When someone doesn't leave a review it affect the percentage review rate and that can prevent you from becoming a Superhost on Airbnb. Once again try to convince all guests to leave you a fair review. Good luck!!!

@Aldean0 Btw the minimum requirement to be a Superhost is 50% review rate. Make yourself familiar with all the remaining requirements in the stats.

Thank you so much for your good advice. I certainly will do that in future.

We are just outside of Palm Springs California. I just  hosted my first guest in April 2017, so I am fairly new to this too. I have gotten my guest to leave reviews by just asking for them. On the message I send for the final check out instructions, I write "don't forget to leave us a Five Star review, it really helps little guys like us to get great reviews". I've had 25 guest and 22 have left reviews. Two guest damaged things and were charged for them and the other just didn't leave a review. I had a group from China leave a review in Chinese. When translated, it comes across as "very big house". I think this may be a compliment but who knows? I don't care what language your review is in, just leave me a Five Star review.
