Reviews

Hi to all Airbnb folk

I have been hosting for around six months and have checked the review of my latest guest and they rated me as having several missing amenities such as  toilet paper, linen, pillows, soap and towels which is incorrect. I also ask all of my guests if they need anything please ask for assistance. How do I rectify this error or have other hosts experienced this type of injustice and how do you manage this type of negative response.

Thank you

Kaz

@Kaz18  Did you ask them through the AirBnB messaging system? I would make it habit to do this the day after checkin as I do. This way if they come back with issues after saying eveything is greast, no problems, the house is perfect, etc. you have backup support. If there was an issue they should have contacted you immediately. I think this was on the review questions, not public just AirBnB's spying on hosts like Did you provide enough toilet paper, did everyone have a pillow, etc. You will probably get an email and a slap on the hand from the robot computer about not supply the essentials and a threat to delist you. If you tick off essentials and guests say you don't proved them AirBnB has stated they will remove your listing or penalize you.

I ask:

Good afternoon XXXX,

Just wanted to check in to see if everything was okay with the Guest House and if you needed anything. Please let us know if you have any questions or any issues.

Thank you,
Letti

@Kaz0I think there must have been some recent changes in the app on the guest side, I can't say for sure, but something similar just happened to me.

It was her first time using Airbnb.   She raved about her stay, how wonderful everything was, gave me 5 star reviews across the board and  gave a great review. However she checked off all these boxes for areas to work on including all the same ridiculous things that you mention. The only thing I can think is that she thought it was the reverse. Not something to work on but something that was good and was provided.  I don't know for sure I'd have to see it from the guest side but perhaps the way it's laid out it's confusing to first-timers especially if English is their second language.
