Take a moment before posting public response.

Another lesson learned by me, a noob host. I had a guest check out and leave a beautiful review, except for one sentence, quote:

"Although Jim's place shown picture not actractive as the advertisement in hotel."

I immediately thought she meant that she saw my listing in some hotel somewhere and I only advertise on the Airbnb platform. I posted my public response thanking her for her stay (really cool bunch of women) and told her I'd look into the advertisement she mentioned. Come to find out that what she was actually saying was, quote:

"What I try to mean is the picture you took of your house in the Airbnb apps are not as pretty and cosy as your house actual looks"

And since I had posted the public response I couldn't include this flattering info and after a chat with customer service found that I couldn't even get the public response edited. I totally understand and agree with the logic behind blind, uneditable, reviews but bummed out about that I can't change the public response.

So some advice from me, if you have a question about a review, keep your public response card held until you need to play it. I wonder what the time limit is, but I'll figure that out when I need it.

Hi @Jim472

Yes the best advice is to ALWAYS take some time to reflect before any review is posted.

Quite naturally, it is 14 days from checkout that you have the right to review.

As for the public feedback or response, the nearest I can find to assist you is a thread created by our CC experienced host, Robin from Mt Barker, Australia - @Robin (unable to tag) last year. Consensus varies, but the response from hosts alike is a good read!
