The Guest wants to extend his stay, but complains about price of holiday stay. What to do?

He booked 20 euro a night per room for few days.

And preholiday price for 2 days (the ones he wanna extend for) is 24 euro a night per a room.

He completely takes my brain out saying:

"Why your price is  SUDDENLY SO HIGH for the next few days?

Is it because I told I want to extend?"

I wrote to the support team asking to connect with the guest and confirm if he will be extending or not.

For the rest, as I understand, if it's not extended I can freely see him off at 12.00, and if somebody books, it's his fault, not mine, that he decided not to extend dates in time.

What you think of this type of Guests? Share your experience how you behave in such situations?

Thank you.

@Alon1  in my case we pay inside country taxes. This is first. The second is - I do not work with cash at all. So, I accept online bookings only. So, official deals only.

Most the people who extend with me after their Airbnb booking ends, don't pay cash, rather bank transfers, precisely as I receive Airbnb payments. The difference is the Guest no longer has to pay extra % service fee.

And you seem to have gone in a quite rigid way by only accepting online booking.

Moreover, since you've been in this business for two decades, I wonder if you started in the pre-internet years? If so, how did you use to receive payments?

And I wonder how your predecessors used to receive payments in 'one of the oldest guesthouses...'?

Finally, it's not clear to me what you mean by 'we pay inside country taxes'.

Do you think everyone else doesn't?

@Alon1 don't compare business in slavic countries and business in london. Here 3 bucks change in price is a huge reason for people not to book. So, Mathematical proportion is very different. You would not survive here with your approach.

The 'change in price' is not the issue I replied to.  It was rather about the means of acceptance of payment (internet or otherwise), and your reference to taxes, (evidently implying that receivers of rentals in other countries don't pay taxes).

So then, to address your tangent, I can best speculate if I lived in Slavic countries I would presumably adapt my ways or perish. -- One thing I can say for certain, I wouldn't be faced with 40% Inheritance Tax in Slavic countries, a subject touched on previously.

@Alon1 , just take it as it is. You would not survive here with your menthality.

You really can't tell about me, because you don't really know me.

Moreover, please don't labour under the illusion that you are the only one who can illuminate the World or even just the Airbnb Community Centre about the ways of life in 'Slavic Countries'. I previously mentioned to you the Ukrainian / Russian lady who has stayed with me on and off for a number of years. -- I've also had quite a few guests, including longer term, from other countries in your region.

In short, you are not the fount of all knowledge about your region.

@Alon1 If your knowledge of the contry is based on 1 lady from slavic country, this knowledge is non objective. I lived all over the world, including London [postcode hidden], Providence Tower. So, I appreciate you point of view. But we live in different economic worlds.

Ps. I would add that I'm actually a native of Israel. The country history is based on numerous emigres from Slavic Countries. Indeed, my father was born in Vilnius and his mother tongue was Russian. The latest wave in the 1990s, following the break up of the Soviet Union led to over 1 million Russian speakers emigrating to Israel. It's a long-long history.

Israel is not FUSSR. Not the same. Now we have 15 millions out of 45, who emigrated from Ukraine. For the last 4 years. And the clients for daily rent rooms in the center of the capital (not the entire apartment)  are the directors of manufacturing plants cut in budjets, or seekers of easy money comming from the west. Or instagram models who wanna do more shopping less rental payments. Or russian escort girls, who wanna make cheap injections and operations here.

1) Directors are beating the price down for the cost of 1 kg of sausage

2) Easy money seekers simply don't care

3) instagram models are TOO LOUD hanging with friends online

3) Escort girls doing cheap injections bring deseases into the house as they try to get cash at nightclubs, plus, they are bleeding or not feeling well after operations. And I AM NOT A HOSPITAL.

People have no money anymore for decent conditions of living.

Sometimes you can be like just with normal professionals whoh need centrallocation and having adequate attitute.

But it's rare.

Yes, I acknowledge there are differences.

But I wonder what's the difference between one woman (you) on the internet global forum informing about your country, and a woman (the lady with me) who I know in person for over 5 years, informing me personally?

And as mentioned it's not just her, but quite a few others, including one man who deals in property and finance all over the Russian speaking world.

Really, I haven't learned a considerable amount from you that I don't already know.

What is true, is that I would never chose to live in a Slavic country because of the history of antisemitism.

@Alon1  Depends on background. I am comming from top mathematical family, my grandpa was in top 3 in Europe in machinery construction. Mercedes, BMW etc were his clients.

So, I know something about proportions and numbers. WHo is the lady you are speaking about - I have no clue.  The rental business for me is rather an indicator of how poor people become all over the world. As my main earnings are made on international trades.

But when top manager of worldknown company producing coffee travelling from Switzerland back home starts a fight with me in correspondence over a price of room, and starts TO TEACH ME what my pricing should be, then, I must guess, everything is not that good with the budjects all over the world.

I don't wish to devulge personal information about someone else to a stranger on a global forum.

I will only say that she is evidently just as smart as you in terms of maths, intellect and university degrees.

If you wish to meet her, please make another trip to London, where she's done considerably more than an English course.

@Alon1  I prefer not to meet people who rent rooms. I like people who rent villas. I wish your client her best with her financial future.

All I would add in respect of the lady here, that she's predominantly used her finances to date to buy a couple of properties in St Petersberg. She's also quite a bit younger than you, so who knows what she might achieve at a relative age.

At this point I'd appreciate a Time-Out in further replies, because I need to focus on my own work.
