ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.
I have been asking them to change this for 6 months now. I was on the phone every day for weeks. Airbnb has gone from great to -100 in my book lately.
They introduced a default in the search/book feature that is only showing properties with instant book on. They seem to switch it on and off intermittently. Nobody could tell me why my bookings had dropped off until I figured out what they were doing. So irresponsible to gamble with my business like that.
It's very hard to run my 7 listings off instant book but I had no choice as I'd already lost around $20k!!
So I switched it on and set a 2 night minimum for the weekends (which is also impractical as it takes Thur/Fri or Sat/Sun) and set the custom calendar to fill in the 1 night gaps. It doesn't work!
A child would tell you that the custom calendar should override all. Customer service is absolutely no help at all. You would think that someone with 7 listings on the phone every day would qualify for a manager to call back. I never get past people who don't even know how to use their own website.
Atrocious.

Meanwhile I have potentially 4 or 5 empty properties on a Saturday night that users can't see..... that I could book out 5 times over.
So I switched off instant book again as they seemed to stop their moronic experiment. But now they've started doing the default feature again! I will lose my properties if I don't have instant book on. I lose out on so many 1 nighters when I do.
It's so unbelievably bad and stupid it defies belief. Mind boggling. It should have been fixed 1 year ago.
If you're going to make us turn on instant book then fix the custom calendar to override the weekend setting!
