He had some guests stay at our home over New Year. We can now no longer find our GoPro camera which was left at home. When I use the Airbnb resolution centre and click on the request money I get this message:
You don’t have any eligible reservations to request money from right now.
We only recently noticed that the camera was missing as we don't use it that often. How can we contact someone at Airbnb to report the theft and to claim compensation?
Tou have an impossible task ahead of you unless you have proof that a specific guest stole your camera. Saying that you rarely use it, haven't seen it in months and then accusing a guest of taking it will not stand up to any scrutiny by Airbnb (or the police for that matter). You should lock away valuable items when renting out your property to avoid situations like this.
@Isabelle-and-Luke0 You have not shared how you came to the conclusion that a past guest from over 5 months ago stole your camera. I agree with @Gerry-And-Rashid0 that there is little chance you will be able to claim the loss through Air BNB. However, since you asked about contacting Air BNB, here is a link to the guide found on this site for contacting Air BNB:
You have a Police Report? Have you reported the matter to your own Insurers? Also wondering how you know who took them.
Hi guys....you do really need to be a bit more on the ball than this. You have only hosted one guest through ABB since January but have you hosted guests though other platforms in that time?
It is a bit tuff coming along after 4 months and claiming an event happened that you require compensation for.
I feel sorry for you that you have lost your Hero 4 but you cannot just pin it on a particular guest after four months. Countries rise and fall in four months these days, and I would not think you would have a 'snowballs chance in hell' of trying to get any compensation after this amount of time.
If you feel you really want to pursue this matter give Airbnb a call in Denmark on +45 89 88 20 00 and see how they will react to this request.....but, after 4 months, I don't like your chances!!!
Cheers.....Rob
