What should I do with my listing whilst I'm away?

Hello fellow Airbnb'ers!

I've been hosting successfully for the last couple of months, and pride myself on getting back to prospective guests as quickly as possible.

Lucky for me, I am soon to go on holidays for a couple of weeks, and I will not have mobile phone or internet access. I have someone to take care of guests I have booked in over this time (friends, not Airbnb guests), but what should I do with my listing? There will be a period of about two weeks where I won't be able to respond to people. Is it best to give someone else (my sister, who I trust) my password to caretake my listing, or is there something else I can do?

Thank you for your time,

Katie

Hi katie.

I have the same situation...I thought of turning "instant booking" on, so that I wouldn't have to worry about replying to guests' messages, but that seems not to be the solution, as guests might  still send you messages whilst they are doing the booking. I am thinking it is better to ring them (Aiirbnb) and see if there would be any other better solution.

Maybe ringing them will help deciding what to do anyway. Good Luck. Fabia.

You can snooze your listing for the time you are away and it will be hidden from search results and you won't receive any instant bookings or requests to book. At the bottom left of the calendar click on where it says Listed and select Snoozed:

You then enter the dates which you want the listing to snooze for:

Your listing will automatically reactivate when the timeframe you set is over. The day before your listing reactivates you'll receive a reminder email.

Hello @Victoria57,

Lovely to meet you and great advice here. I'm just including @Katie16 in this reply and then she will receive a specific notification with your response. 🙂

(Top tip - to do this just add he @ symbol and this will create a drop down menu so you can select the person you want to mention)

I hope you find this useful Katie and you have a lovely holiday. Are you going somewhere nice?

Thanks,

Lizzie
