@Carla105 You can set this in your Availability Settings which is in the black banner to the upper left of your calendar display. Are you sure you want bookings that far in advance? I find limiting to 3 or 4 months makes it easier to stay on top of pricing and to allow for special events. If you are not concientious about keeping your calendar updated someone could book at a price you didn't intend and then you would be stuck with it. 🙂
Haha @Clare0 yes that's good advice and has happened to us despite being experienced at hosting. We have our bookings running up to a year ahead and have received bookings for June 2017 but hadn't reviewed the price so accepted bookings at a price that is probably now too low. Doh!
You are getting good advice so far. The market shifts too quickly to get stuck in an agreement at today's price for a reservation over a year out. It's definitely worth thinking about your situation further before deciding what's best for you.
My place is in a vacation area with several major events each year. I recieved an inquiry a year in advance for a tennis tournament. My point is that it depends on your type of business. I need to be aware that when people purchase very expensive event tickets, they want to secure a place to stay. I have been caught off guard several times but that is the price of the learning curve.
