Why do the reviews I leave display as one block of text?

I spend the time to format my comments (shift/enter etc) when leaving a review only for it to display as one long (and ugly) block of text. What am I doing wrong?

@Gordon0. AirBNB strips all formatting from the reviews, so there is no point in spending any time on paragraph returns, bullet points, or bold/italics. I have always assumed that this was a security measure to prevent DoS commands being embedded into the HTML, but have no inside knowledge that this is the reason.

I also find this very annoying and with the longer reviews, it becomes very difficult to read.

To separate segments of Reviews I utilize single or double hyphens, capital letters, numbers.

I thought once and that was enough and came up with this solution. I'm not going to die wondering about the masterminds and boffins at Airbnb.
