guest arrives, leaves and airbnb waives completely the renting fee without any explanation

I had a booking for an apt in Paris. The guest had booked 7 days and then asked to change to 12 days. He arrived, did the check in and left after 1 hour without any notice. Airbnb did never contact me. I did not received any explanation and any money. The guest wrote me it was called but left all radiators on when he left so that after 2 days when the maid went the apt was very warm, the radiartors that cost lots of electricity on. I am unable to contact Airbnb. They NEVER contacted me and I have no idea why this reservation was cancelled without any complaint and refund.

Very frustration as at least 50% should have been payed.

Can anybody explain what may have happened and can anybody tell me how to get at least 50% of the money as now I am unbale to rerent?

That's terrible @Gabriele86!   Here's a very handy reference for "how-to's" including contact Airbnb: https://community.airbnb.com/t5/tag/Community%20Guide/tg-p/board-id/listing-and-reservations

It is unusual for Airbnb to not give the host a chance to tell their side of the story, but the forum is filled with similar stories.   Airbnb now is allowing guests much more leeway in "Arrival".  In other words, a guest can pretty much walk in, say the place is not as it should be, using any kind of nonsense, then walk out and convince Airbnb to give them a refund.

I hope that you can get this sorted out in your favor.

Where were you during all of this? Your story is missing a few details. Ive NEVER had a guest walk into my house, leave and get a refund without AirBnB at least reaching out to me. Often times AirBnB or the guest will contact you, e-mail you and message you. If you fail to respond during that time its likely going to be a summary judgment against you. The guest could have stated they couldn't gain access to your house or any of the 5 reasons that will allow them to cancel the reservation without penalty.

something isn't right here: @Gabriele86  has 138 reviews for the  Paris Apt. yet when I click on her profile it says she joined in Jan. 2017.

@Annette33

Community Member Profile is dfferent from Host Profile. The dates of the two don't always correlate.

She joined in Jan 2017 as an Airbnb Community Member.

But she joined in 2010 as an Airbnb Host, hence the large number of reviews.

yes, @Ange2 , true - and I figured that out pretty  soon after I had posted, then couldn't delete the post. Still, it is very misleading that Airbnb just calls it "Airbnb member since......" . they should be clear and name it "Airbnb community member since....."
