I have a second condo (not my primary residence) in downtown Calgary that I would like to use as airbnb. However, I do not live close to this place. I need some suggestions on ways to provide access to building as well as unit to my guests.
I use a lockbox beside the door, with a retractable (zip-line-type) key lanyard inside, with the key attached. The lockbox code is sent to guests in the week before they arrive, and I change it periodically.
I've stayed in other places with keypad locks - either mechanical or digital - which work well also.
We use a digital key code lock, recently got a new one a few months back and I highly recommend it! It connects to your AirBNB calendar so when guests book a stay, it automatically sends them an email confirmation with their key code and check in instructions for you. It also auto updates itself and changes codes for you when guests check in and check out! It definitely saves us a ton of time and makes hosting not only super easy for us, but also easy and convenient for our guests too!
Here's a link to it, I highly suggest you check it out! (:
