Airbnb Allowing Review Extortion Despite Clear Evidence

Hi Airbnb Community,

I am reaching out because Airbnb’s support team is ignoring its own policies by refusing to remove a review that is a clear case of review extortion.

Key Facts:

The guest explicitly admitted that their review depended on receiving a refund.

When I refused their escalating refund demand ($150 → $400, 100% my payout), they left a 1-star retaliatory review.

Airbnb’s own policies prohibit this, yet support refuses to act.

Here is the proof of extortion from the guest’s messages:

I asked: “If I process the $150 refund, would that fully settle everything, including your review?”

Guest response: “Yes, it would settle everything, including the review.”

This is a textbook violation of Airbnb’s review policy but Airbnb refused to remove the review. I am thinking about stop hosting.

Yeah Airbnb is being ridiculous with this new review system. Brian Chesky doesn’t give a ****** sipping his cup of coffee every morning while he sees his company’s stock rise while we suffer at the hands of guests extorting us. Every single update it gets worse and worse for us hosts. I hope a new competitor comes and wipes Airbnb out wi
