DO NOT STAY @**
I recently stayed in an airbnb with my boyfriend arriving on February 21st and departing on the 23rd, we did lots of research looking for a nice romantic getaway in hocking hills. One of our top priorities when looking was to find something clean, we came across ‘**’ and we thought it was perfect… well it appeared to be. On February 24th, I woke up with over 50+ bites all over my face, shoulders, stomach, arms, back, and legs. My boyfriend woke up with some large bites as well but no where near what I experienced. I IMMEDIATELY ran to airbnb support and reported that the place we stayed at must of had bedbugs. They seemed to take the claim very seriously and said they’d reach out to the host to do some investigating. The host responded back to airbnb support and said there was no visible signs of bedbugs and I must of had an allergic reaction to the bleach that they wash the sheets in. Mind you I use bleach at home extremely frequently and I am not allergic to anything so how do you explain the 50+ bites on me? Also, during this investigation NOT ONCE did the host reach out to apologize for my our experience or inconvenience in HER airbnb. I immediately contacted a doctor to see if they could provide any insight to the situation, he looked at my bites and ruled they were indeed bedbugs bites. I sent over photos and documentation to airbnb of my bites, my boyfriends bites, and my doctor’s summary. Airbnb support again reached out to the host with all my information I provided them. The host completely ignored my doctor’s summary as well as our pictures and only offered me 30% back due to my “inconvenience” & that was all she was willing to give. Airbnb decided to back the host since there was no visible bedbugs but that still does not explain the 50+ bites all over my body and yet they showed no sympathy other than “I’m sorry.” An apology doesn’t make up for the swelling, itching, the uncomfortableness, & the constantly feeling dirty that we experienced. When they told me they decided to back the host on her decision I said I will be going back to the doctor to get a more detailed summary of my bites because apparently what I provided wasn’t enough. Ella, senior manager with airbnb support told me even if I received that documentation they wouldn’t give me a full refund because the host said no. Needless to say I will never book with airbnb as they claim they care about your health and safety and take bedbug complaints seriously but yet they had full documentation and yet they still did not do the right thing. Also the listing was never suspended when they did “investigating,” if they even did investigate as I never received documentation proving they actually went to the property to investigate.

I would go back to Airbnb with the report you have from the doctor confirming you have bed bugs @Taylor777
I did & they still only offered me 30% of my money back because the host said no she would not offer me a refund only could do 30%. I figured airbnb support would back me but apparently not.
The host is not allowed to refuse a full refund for any days you didn't stay if you provided clinical proof of bed bugs. Check air cover for guests and try again. @Taylor777
