Booking BETWEEN holidays.

Hi!

i just received a request from someone looking to book December 26 - December 30 that does not have any reviews yet and just joined Airbnb.

I am always a little concerned with brand new folks that don’t have any reviews yet but I am also concerned that accepting this booking will eliminate the opportunity for others that would like to book for the actual holidays.

Thoughts?

Thank you in advance!

Here's my take as a host, it's a terrific question:

That's a terrific booking that I'd accept unless it is a local, which I don't favor unless  know them already. This is a newbie, perhaps, so I'd ask questions about their goals for the stay. I love spoiling newbies and setting up their love for the platform and us hosts. They may actually have experienced stays with other guests and it does not show on their profile.

Also, having a between holidays booking allows you to celebrate with your family and friends if you wish. My guess is this is someone who really needs a break. Ask them.

Let us know what you decide!

I appreciate you responding and I have accepted some folks that were new in the past. Possibly my thoughts were selfish in that it would deter a longer stay or multiple stays over the holiday period.

I did ask about their goals like you stated and they said they are from the area and coming back to visit family.

This is good! My one concern and question for them is do they plan to use your place as a day long space for a get together? We do not personally allow any non registered people on the property. Insurance, local STR ordinance,  wear and tear, parking, public safety, potential parties, noise, breaking of rules, and issues with neighbors are some of the reasons.
