Claims Against Host—Who Pays?

I have a guest who was upset that I made a claim against her for using some chemical on my marble bathroom counter that ate away the surface of the shiny marble. Then she draped the gloves she used over the back of a kitchen chair painted with lacquer. Of course, whatever chemical ate away the surface of the marble, also messed up/ate away the paint on the back of the chair. My cleaning helper snapped a picture of the mess, which showed the gloves on the chair exactly where the paint was destroyed and she still denied doing both. Airbnb said they would rule in my favor on this claim.

Out of retaliation, the guest said a spider bit her face while she was sleeping and she wanted $1280 compensation. Airbnb seems to be siding with this person, although I don’t have the final decision. If they do agree with her—and I’ve already refused the claim—where does this money come from? I certainly don’t have $1280! How does Airbnb collect payments such as this?
