Fake damage claims from the host

Can the host ask for money outside Airbnb portal, on private messaging and threaten to file a police complaint? All the claims are exaggerated. The host is practically asking me to pay for cleaning and breaking of a flower pot. So if Airbnb declares her claims as rubbish, can they threaten to sue me from outside Airbnb and ask me to pay her on account?

@Aniketh-Dhanraj0   Any person can sue any other person or threaten them with a suit. Can they get away with it?  Only if you let them.  

Copy or take pictures of the off-portal messages and paste them into the message thread on AirBnB that is pertinent to the booking.  If AirBnB can validate the threat, the errant host may be sanctioned.

By the way, this method also applies to hosts who have had guests threaten them.  If the threatening communication is on the platform where AirBnB can see it, sanctions may occur.

(But don't count on any assistance from outsourced customer service).

Report the host to Airbnb for asking for money outside of Airbnb @Aniketh-Dhanraj0 

Keep all communication on Airbnb and remind the host you will only respond to communication via Airbnb.
