Guests leaving good reviews and I give them a bad review then they retaliate on google.

We have only left 3 bad reviews in 7 years. The last one was just today. All three gave us good reviews. The problem is that we are very reluctant giving a bad review as are most hosts. We would rather not review at all, but this last guest was horrible. Two of them retaliated and gave us a scathing review on other platforms like google and yelp. So when Airbnb ask for reviews and say be honest I am sure most of us are not being. From now on I will be very careful giving an honest negative review of a guest. I personally don't read reviews of booked guests because I believe them not to be accurate.

@Bruce-And-Jane0 I can only say that we leave honest reviews for ALL guests. 3 in the last 5 years have been negative and no one has retaliated in any way.

@Bruce-And-Jane0 , I always leave honest reviews on all my guest(s). I always state and/or answer the question “Would you host again? before it was changed to recommend to other host(s)? As with @Mike-And-Jane0, I have yet to encounter any backlash/retaliatory response. 

Honest reviews left by other host(s) helps the rest of us gauge whether we accept a booking request/stay.

I wish this was the case. The worst guest we ever hosted had 12 amazing reviews. She was awful in every way. She did illegal things, she threatened us and hit us. We had to get the police and Fire Chief involved. She had to be removed. Airbnb was very good and sided with us. Although she still has nothing but stellar reviews on her profile. She went to google review and left a disgusting review that google will not remove. 

Another guest was terrible and we made a review that said he would be better suited to a hotel and that was it. He went to google review and said our breakfast was rotten, the sheets were dirty etc etc. Although he had left a wonderful review saying our breakfast was amazing and the place was spotless. He also had over 10 5 star reviews. So it may have not happened to you yet or you aren't aware that people have retaliated on other platforms.
