Host cancelled my booking and my credit card details changed.

I paid R8500 for a holiday booking and the host unexpectedly cancelled at the last minute. My credit card details changed since the booking and now my refund can't be processed. Does anyone know what to do? Customer support do not answer...

Hi @Michelle3907 here are the steps you can take to resolve the issue regarding your refund.

1. Update Your Payment Information on Airbnb Update your credit card or payment details with your new information. This ensures that Airbnb has your current payment information for processing refunds.

2. Contact Airbnb Customer Support - Reach out to Airbnb customer support directly through the Airbnb website or app. You can find the 'Contact Us' or 'Help Center' options in the app or website. Explain your situation: mention the unexpected cancellation by your host and the change in your credit card details. Be prepared to provide any necessary documentation, such as the original booking confirmation and any communication from the host regarding the cancellation.

3. Monitor Your Airbnb Account and Email - Keep an eye on your Airbnb account and your email for any updates or requests for additional information from Airbnb.

4. Check with Your Bank or Credit Card Issuer - In some cases, refunds can be processed back to your old card and then transferred to your new account by your bank or card issuer. Contact your bank or credit card issuer to inform them of the situation and see if they can assist in ensuring the refund is correctly processed to your new account. Hope this helps!
