Legal action against Airbnb for stolen reservations

Legal action against Airbnb for stolen reservations

Airbnb locked out my hosting account on March 16th, 2020, without a reason and canceled all future reservations.

On April 11th, they accepted that they made a mistake and they fully restored my account. They paid the full amount for the incorrectly canceled reservations for between March 16th to April 14th. And they told me that they will try to rebook the future reservations with a check-in date is later than April 14th.

However, later they stated that they will only pay for a fraction of the total amount of the reservations with a check-in date between April 14th to April 21st and there will be no payment for the reservations after that. I’d like to clarify that these cancelations are not related to any extenuating circumstances or COVID-19. These are not canceled by the guests. Airbnb has already accepted its mistake and they stated that these reservations were canceled incorrectly by them.

So, they are making only about $752 payment for more than $30,000 worth of reservations. Moreover, they are rejecting reissuing my superhost status that I desevered before they had cancelled my account incorrectly.

Now I am taking this case to the court and I just wanted to let other hosts know about what kind of company we are dealing with.

I’ll keep you updated.

@Pinar8  this is our second time to comment, it kept blocking it.....All the best on your case and please keep us posted

wow. that one-liner comment above came through ....hmmmm

They might be blocking certain words or expressions those aren't wanted to be heard by the community. But thanks for your support.

It's really absurd. This must be devastating. It's getting harder and harder to host and easier and easier to be a guest on this platform. Guests walk away from trashed apartments, get full refunds for false claims and complaints and we as hosts are stuck carrying the cost and overhead of running a business where we are just used and abused.

That's the summary of what we are living now.

is there a way to gang up to gather in a class action together with all hosts?

Hello

I have been a host for 9 years. On 8 April I received an email saying that my listing appeared to be a duplicate and it was going to be canceled.

I have spent an enormous amount of time on the phone and writing messages. I sent every legal proof that I am the lawful owner and etc.

no one cared to listen to me. I was never provided with a single piece of evidence of any rule breaking.

I am a struggling single mom due to my husband’s severe illness that left him disabled and bedridden. I am his full time caregiver and now they are taking away my livelihood.

Can I legally stop them  from doing that ?

did you have any success with your case ?

I meant suspended.
