Needing advise on being charged for damages

Hello

I am looking for some advise. We recently stayed at a house in Auckland (booked under my wife's account), after checkout the host is trying to charge us damage (stains) for 3 duvet inners and a mattress protector.

If we did do any damage, we would put our hands up and pay. But we didn't stain any if the bedding.

How can we contest this?

TIA

@Michael8190 the only thing you can do is deny the damage. If Airbnb decide you did cause the damage ask them for their proof before requesting a chargeback from your bank (assuming they take the money from you).

We are busy appealing but not feeling very convinced. Airbnb is asking for our documented evidence that we didn't cause the stains.

No idea what they are expecting. Who takes photos of duvet inners and mattress protectors when you first arrive? ๐Ÿคทโ€

Just feels like we are being ripped off ๐Ÿ˜•

@Michael8190 The Airbnb request is actually quite good for you. The host, as the claimant, should be required to provide date stamped photos of the duvet before and after your stay.

We have asked Airbnb for the host to provide before and after photos (date stamped).

Let's see what they come back with.
