Remove a review that you gave yourself

Hi all,

I have a case that a person wasn't aware of how airbnb reviews work and wants to remove it after speaking with me. I contacted airbnb support and they said he can do so following a certain link. However the guest is not that tech savy and said it doesn't work. I tried myself the link that the support gave us and I also see only the reviews there that I reviewed and can request removal, not the ones that I gave - what we need in this case.

Does anybody have the link to remove reviews you have given yourself?

Thanks,

Ariane

Hi @Ariane473

If the guest is struggling, they can contact Airbnb support directly and request review removal. You can suggest they use Airbnbโ€™s chat or call support for guidance.

I did already. Even sent him screenshots with a step by step guide but seems a bit challenging...

Now he accidentally removed my 5 star review for him instead of removing his own ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Where can a guest click to remove his own reviews? I only got the link from the support to remove reviews that were received.

Hi @Ariane473

It sounds like Support misunderstood and accidentally sent the link where hosts can request a review removal.

I've checked for you and I cannot click somewhere to remove a review that I've written. I've also searched the help articles, and that confirms that only way to remove a review that you've written, is to contact customer support (which he is having trouble doing).

If all else fails, you could eventually click the link they sent and (from your side), ask Airbnb to remove the review based on the fact that the guest agrees to the removal. It may be a struggle, but if they're willing to contact him to confirm, it should theoretically be possible.

(By the way, it doesn't make sense to me that the guest accidentally removed his own 5-star review. One cannot remove this yourself, and customer services would surely not have removed an all-positive review at his request?)
