Theft by cleaning crew in Airbnb

My son is staying in an Airbnb for an extended stay.  After he left for some errands, the cleaners came in and stole several of his things.  Does he have any way of being reimbursed for this happening?

@Debby108 Absolutely he does. First thing is to report the theft to the police and get some sort of crime report number. The police can also contact Airbnb on a special police line to get the owners details who can then advise the name and address of the cleaners.  Alternatively he can get the cleaners names from the host and give them to the police. Once all this is done he can ask Airbnb to process an Aircover claim.
