They left us locked outside of the airbnb for the whole night!!!
I rented an airbnb for a family vacation everything went smoothly until the last night when we arrived to the airbnb the door would not unlock. This happened at 11pm. We attempted to call the owner of the property but no answer. We called airbnb and they said to give them 20 minutes. We had to call airbnb like 4-5 times and they could not do anything. We had a very early flight that morning so we needed someone to unlock the door for us. It was now over 4am and we were still stuck outside the property with 2 little kids sleeping in the car. Nobody was able to help or provide a solution so we had to go sleep for a couple hours at a hotel. We ended up losing our flights due to this. The owner of the property finally solves the issue at 8am just saying he reset the code and we could now enter. We had to pay for hotel, extra car rental, new airline tickets which were $1,100 because of the owner’s negligence. This is not counting all the extra expenses for having to stay an extra day. Airbnb and the owner just refunded us $235 for the night stay, they said that was enough. When I inquired about the aircover that should have covered us in this situation they said it was already resolved by the $235 refund and that was more than enough. We are still trying to recover the other $865 that they owe us. What can we do?

@Angelivette0 I amm apalled that this happened to you. Please leave a review stating that the 'host' left your family shut out of the home for an entire night..also put your case to Airbnb again as this is apalling ... all the best ... H

Hi, thank you for your reply. I tried like 4 times and still got denied. They said that refunding me for the night was enough. It is so frustrating.
