What to say to guests who cover up outdoor cameras during their stay?

I currently have guests staying at the house. The listing discloses "security cameras on the property" and the guest book in the house states it at the very beginning of the information so there are no surprises.  And of course, outdoor cameras only.

The guests are using the jacuzzi in the buff, fine by me, so I assume they covered the cameras to not be seen in the nude. Too late.

I'd like to message them to uncover the cameras, but don't want to disclose I've seen them naked.  He's literally naked as he puts a cloth over the cameras.

Past guests have given me dings in the review for "privacy" issues.  Indicating I'm watching them all day.  They were mad because I busted them doing things they were not supposed to, smoking, undisclosed pets or extra guests, etc.

Suggestions?

@Bonnie433,

This is awkward.

If the guests are a couple only, and you are fairly sure they aren't throwing a party...then I would just drop it, don't mention anything because IF they contact support you can almost be certain your listing will be shut down.

Not worth the loss of income, in my opinion.

If the guests reach out to you with any questions during their stay then you could subtly ask if they were aware that something is blocking your camera and then take this opportunity to give them 24 hrs notice that youll be sending your handy-man over to check it & unblock it.

There is an Airbnb document that states what Airbnb does & does NOT allow, and blocking cameras is on the list.  I'll look for it and will reply with it below in a few min..

But I wouldn't bring it up to airbnb because again the new support reps are quick to shut down our listings first, and investigate later...much later.

@Bonnie433  Most importantly, make sure you have fully disclosed the cameras on your Airbnb Listing Page

Under Guest Safety, then under Security Cameras or Audio...then describe in detail:

- where each camera is located,

- whether it is on or off during reservations.

If this is not disclosed on your listing page...the Host is in violation of Airbnb's rules.

Mentioning cameras in your house manual ONLY is not sufficient.

to be honest - a camera recording guest in the space they rented - even if you have disclosed it... in an space where your guests MIGHT be naked...... is probably marginal at best.   think you should avoid that conversation AND move the camera as fast as possible - to a place where it covers ONLY areas that can be seen by the public -
we have a camera that monitors the parking space - good to know when people arrive and plenty to discover a pet or other problems..
