Without permission guest brought more five people to my apartment

Hi Community,

My guest reserved my apartment for 1 person.  Recently I discovered from doorbell records that he brought 5 more people to my apartment without any permission.  And my listing allow max 4 people. What should be my reaction? I am new in the hosting. Don't have an experience.

It depends if the Guest is still there, your first step is to communicate with the Guest,

I always communicate on the platform.

I also suggest don't mention camera evidence.  Cameras always cause issues for the Host even if legit and really doesn't matter why you have a question just that you do.

Politely just ask I have been informed that possibly there was more traffic then expected of one person in unit, are there additional parties in your stay?

Hi Taleh,

You can start by checking your house rules to ensure they clearly state the maximum occupancy limit and any policies regarding additional guests. Next, message the guest through Airbnb's platform to address the situation politely but firmly. Mention that your listing allows a maximum of four guests and that any additional guests require prior approval.

Request clarification on the situation and remind them of your house rules. If the guest doesn't respond or comply, you can escalate the issue by contacting Airbnb support to report the violation.

Ensure you have evidence, such as the doorbell footage, to support your claim. Keep all communication professional and within the Airbnb platform to maintain a record of your interactions.

I hope this helps.

All the best,
