bedbugs in Cyprus - refund!

Hello.

I came home yesterday from a 3 days stay at an Airbnb in Larnaca, Cyprus. We were three persons staying there. After night nr 2 out of 3 we started getting bedbug bites (they usually don't show before a few days). So we checked the mattresses and low and behold there were lots of black spots under every mattresses. Typical signs of excrements from bedbugs. I took pictures immediately and then sent them and complained to the host. The host replied that he was sending a janitor to look at it the day after. But we were leaving then and it would be a hazel to go to another hotel for a day. The host didnt not want to give any refund and Airbnb didn't either. They suggested I got the service and cleaning fee refunded. But I really feel it's not enough. It ruined parts of our weekend and we had to do alot of extra precautions with washing and freezing alot of my luggage when I got home. And I have maybe 20 itching bites all over the body.

The Airbnb support agent asked if I have a doctor's note, but of course I don't. To get a fast doctor's appointment I either need to have a critical health issue or pay a fortune for a private doctor, which the agent also said they wouldnt refund anyway. The agent further said they wouldnt refund more because the problem didn't appear before day 2 out of 3. But the problem was there all along. Bedbug bites generally don't appear before a day or two after you get bit.

This is horrible!

Dont i have any rights? And what signal does this send to hosts if they don't have to do anything to fix bedbug problems?
