I would just throw out all my Guests are temporary employees so normally a few months.
I never accept a 1st time booking for a long period just because they may not fit well with me, maybe they aren't happy maybe I am not happy. Also not often but I have had a Guest That the Company sent home after 10 days.
I sort of have a scale depending on the Guests experience and reviews on Airbnb that ranges from 10 days to 30 days for the initial reservation. With the agreement that I will consider extensions. I don't guarantee extensions but usually I dol accept I think only 1 time after 2 months I didn't accept month 3.
That protects me by not blocking muy calendar for a significant period and the Guest is protected that they don't have to make up a stupid story. Sometimes just not a right fit. If it isn't I prefer they can just move on rather then be a pain in the butt.
