What is the process to deal with a limited mold issue in a listing? The affected area is so small that we could easily tackle it ourselves. But Airbnb seems to have a protocol they want to enforce, relying on remediation professionals. We were thinking that having a testing company certify that the place was clear after our repairs would suffice.
Mold is appearing when there is moisture and lack of ventilation. It is a common problem especially in old houses. Take away the source of the moisture (leakage, etc..) and/or create more ventilation (shower room etc.). Excisting mold can be sprayed with anti-moldspray and will disappear. Airbnb is a booking platform, not a maintenance company. They should concentrate on that and not interfere with our issues by making protocols about things they don't understand.
