Back fence lock

Hi, I have a traditional fence that locks from the outside in my backyard. I would like to lock the gate so that nothing gets stolen in the backyard. How can I do this without it being a fire escape hazard? I currently use a combo lock on my primary home

@Ashlee117

If the back yard is one of your Guests fire escapes from your rental you should make it available.  My garage is a route out of my property but not a shared area, what we did is use an electric keylock that is set to autolock after 3 minutes.  The Guests pin for their area also works on the garage lock.  My locks are tied to an Alarm app on my phone.  It sends me a notification what lock is being open and records the pin used,  I haven't had a need but if I did wake up and suspected unnecessary access to my garage, the system has a report with who and when every day.

@Ashlee117 you can use the same lock on the gate with the coded part facing the outside and the turn knob facing the inside. Another option I have used is having a having no handle on the outside. You have a turn lock on the inside and a plate cover on the outside so no one can get in from the outside at all. I hope this helps!
