Challenges selling out my ground Floor Unit

Hi,

I have a ground floor unit and I have faced challenges selling it out as most guests would prefer upper floors.

How else can I use this space?

Cute property!  Reading your Guest Reviews being on the lower floor is not creating your handicap.  Your overall rating falls below the Airbnb Preference of 4.8.  That effects where the Airbnb Search Displays your listing which lowers your traffic.

Review Review Categories not just great 5 star Overall Rating,  None of your Categories are 5 Star, you want Categories as close to 5 as possible.

What floor is not as big a deal as more than 1 Guest feeling Privacy Invaded.  Look at how you can remedy that because that is a deal breaker for New Customers.

Once you have fixed issues  Use Airbnb Custom Discounts 20% off certain days Airbnb will market.

Maybe turn on Instabook temporarily that will give you a display boost.

You may also need to consider a General Sale Price.

You need to rebuild traffic and get your Overall Rating higher.

Also the Airbnb Search reviews if active Host  The computer does this by reading the field Date Modified on your listing.  You keep this current by regularly doing something to your listing that prompts you click Save.

Hi @Kagure0

Some guests actually prefer ground floor units  you just need to highlight features that appeal to them.

Market to older guests, those with mobility challenges, or families with strollers.

Make it cozy, add a work desk, good WiFi, and promote it as a long-stay rental.

Thank you Pat

@Kagure0 You've received some great advice already! I just want to add that ground floor units can actually be a huge plus when marketed the right way.

✔️ Highlight convenience: Easy access with no stairs or elevators is a big win for elderly guests, families with young children, or anyone with mobility issues.

✔️ Promote safety and accessibility: For travelers who may be concerned about emergency exits or ease of movement, the ground floor is ideal.

✔️ Enhance privacy: If privacy has been a past concern from guests (as @Marie8425 noted), consider adding curtains, frosted windows, planters, or privacy screens to create a more secure and secluded feel.

✔️ Repurpose for long stays: With a cozy layout, strong Wi-Fi, a workspace, and simple comforts, the unit could appeal to remote workers or digital nomads looking for extended stays.

✔️ Use Airbnb's tools: Custom discounts, turning on Instant Book, and updating your listing regularly (as Marie wisely mentioned) can help boost visibility and rebuild your rating.

Sometimes it’s not about changing the space, but changing the narrative around it. Make the benefits of a ground floor unit front and center in your listing title and first few lines of your description.

Wishing you the best—your openness to feedback is already a great step forward!
