Christmas tree

Do you usually put up a Christmas tree during Christmas in your Airbnb?

@Robert8401 we always did in our 3 bed apartment. The 2 and 1 beds had no room so we created a Christmas tree in a picture frame and swapped it for an existing picture.

Yes, I think we should decorate for Christmas. I started with some red sheer curtains inset. Then I added a small table top decorated Christmas tree. I plan to add some Christmas hand towels for the bathroom and kitchen, also some red placemats for the dining table right after Thanksgiving.  I think we want guests to feel as much at home as possible

For the houses that I manage in the UK, my guests adore the festive look - I usually have a real Christmas tree , mince pies, fizz and presents under the tree for any visiting children. However if I suspected that my guests didn’t celebrate- I’d ask them.

Hi Robert,

I always reach out to people who book in December and confirm if they would like and feel comfortable having Christmas decorations in the properties. We have never had anyone say no, even if they don't celebrate Christmas. Everyone appreciated being asked and they all enjoyed and were raving regarding festive decorations.

A little tip: We keep the tree decorated year round to save time. Normally ( because of the size of Christmas tree and number of ornaments) it takes over 4h to set up. Since we keep it decorated, only minimal sprucing up is necessary and it takes a lot less time. Since we have multiple properties, this is much more time saving and cost effective.

Hello @Robert8401

That's a very timely question! Are you thinking to put a tree up yourself this year, or are you undecided still?

Other experienced hosts have shared their insights on the matter with you already, it would be great to know if it helped you decide one way or the other. Thank you @Annie1928 @Karleen-B0 @Lesley534 and @Mike-And-Jane0 for jumping in. 😊
