Damage to property and collection of damage fees?

Damage to property and collection of damage fees?

If someone brings a cat and damages your home inside, what support do we have here as far as compensation. Renters just denied it and did a charge back on their credit card and case closed? And in the meantime I have to remove the carpet from the home.
small claims court? Filled complaint with BBB.

this was not on Air but on another platform so looking for answers on what would be the recourse on Air

Hello @Roxanne212 ,

If a guest damages your place or belongings, you can visit  Resolution Centre (https://www.airbnb.com/resolutions) to submit a reimbursement request in just a few steps and then easily track the process from submission through payout. Your request will first be sent to the guest. If the guest does not respond or pay within 24 hours, you’ll be able to involve Airbnb.

There is a Host damage protection, part of AirCover for Hosts, reimburses Hosts up to $3 million in the rare event your place or belongings are damaged by a guest during an Airbnb stay. You’re reimbursed for certain damage caused by guests to your home and belongings if the guest does not pay for the damage. It also reimburses for extra cleaning services in certain cases, such as removing stains left by guests (or their invitees) or pet accidents and smoke odour removal.

Hi!

to begin with this here is an Airbnb platform therefore our advice and familiarity won’t be too helpful.

I assume every platform has its policies but for what it’s worth let me ask if you have a “no pet “ policy in place or not because that a big factor.

Airbnb covers damages when and if there is no resolution host between host and guest.  And If you have a pet policy I would assume you’re covered.
However, if the case is closed you might be on your own
maybe you Might consider leaving that platform.

Your  question was somewhat vague so I hope I was helpful.
Maggie 😊
