Fire safety doors

Hello. I have a 1750s cottage - which I am being told needs new fire safety doors to be compliant with the new regulations. Has anyone else had experience of this in a character property ? Advice and tips 

Has anyone upgraded existing doors to be compliant ?

I got some quotes at £1700 plus VAT per door - for bespoke hand made oak ones, and I think the more off the shelf ones will be closer to £300 plus VAT but not look as nice.

Which doors have you been advised to change for Fire Safety?

Are there any other alternative options you could incorporate in your listing, including How to Safely escape procedures so that your Guest know what to do and where to gather outside in the event of a Fire?

Do you have a hose attached to the exterior of your home that could be used in case of a Fire?

Most older homes have always had them attached to them over the years.
