Refund for Mouse/Roach infestation, 24/7 noise, lack of cleanliness, etc.

We have a significant mouse and roach infestation and the host and Airbnb are attempting to circumvent the refund policy for uninhabitable dwellings. If I could post photos, I would.

GREAT NEWS! They gave almost a full refund and gave some coupons for our next stay. It took a lot of talking to reps and diligence.

Are you saying they are not accepting video/photographic evidence of the mice/roaches you have seen?

what's their basis for not offering a refund?

I would like to know their basis too. They have none, Airbnb doesn't like to refund even when its fair. Truly bad host and truly bad customer service. I wish I could post them here to show you. I've filed a chargeback with my bank and am contacting an attorney tomorrow. I am also reporting the dwelling to Baltimore County's Housing Council

Hi @Fayth4

I'm really sorry to hear your recent stay went poorly. Have you heard anything further from the Support team now, or do you need additional advice?

Looking forward to hearing from you 🙂

Thanks,

Emilie

Hi Fayth saw some of your posts in the community center and sad to hear you've gone through similar things as myself and thousands of others. I'm happy to hear you got almost the full refund, but also curious to know how long it actually took you and how many hours you spent on the phone/email going back and forth. The Class action lawsuit is starting and gaining momentum! please sign up and share you're story of damages caused even though you had a positive outcome. www.AirbnbClassAction.com Please also share with others far and wide! The more consumers we can prove have significant damages the more power we have to recoup our losses! Even for the positive outcome you received I feel like we should be compensated for our dozens if not hundreds of hours of time it takes to get to a resolution.

WILL DO! Probably 3-4 days and over 10 hours on the phone. It was uncalled for 100%. I stayed in another right after, VERY similar situation. The host had a malfunctioning closet door, broken fridge (sent a new tiny one), no washer/dryer, ants & spiders, possum attacked my dog, broken toilet, broken shower door, broken kitchen faucet, leaking fridge or sink, and more! I'm definitely going to join this and attempt to recoup 100% of the amount I paid them.
