Hi there, I’m looking to purchase smart locks to make everything automatic what’s the best locks which will also integrate with a channel manger I’ve heard simpled locks are the best. I’m based in the uk
Hi @Nick3564,
I use Yale smart locks (Assure Lock 2) I love them and I have them on my personal house as well. They are not the cheapest option. The schlage encode is a popular option as well.
Both integrate nicely with channel managers and AirBnB. If you have a preferred manger you may want to start with them as they likely have a list of integration partners. Airbnb for example are https://www.airbnb.com/connect-your-lock?section=compatibility
@Jeffrey726 Yes the Yale Assure locks are the best in my experience. In 15 years I have tried many and have been using the Yale Locks over 8 listings.
I do not get the touch pad backlit. I use the ones with buttons. They are easier to operate for the mature guests and have better battery life.
Not sure if they can integrate with PMS.
I use the Ezlo hub that integrates with the lock and add and delete my codes there. Very simple and straightforward.
Thanks @Jeffrey726 and @Karen114 for sharing with @Nick3564.
Nick, have you had a chance to read some of the replies?
@Karen114 - I like that you thought about your guests and the ability to use the devices!
Welcome to the Community Center @Nick3564. Thanks so much for asking this here.
I'd like to invite some hosts who have spoken about smart locks in some other threads:
@Anika191 - I saw that you use a Schlage smart lock that integrates with Airbnb. I wondered if you could share your experience with Nick?
@Evan1118 also uses a smart lock. Does yours integrate with a channel manager?
@Dinesh87, @Karen114 and @Graham490 - I think you use smart locks too. Do you have any recommendations for Nick?
I have not tried to integrate my smart lock with a channel manager. I program the guests' codes manually through the lock's app. I find it pretty easy, but maybe I should step up my game?!
Thanks for coming back to me @Evan1118! @Jeffrey726 shared an article below with more info on integration and compatibility. 👇
Do you think it would benefit you as a host to have a channel manager? You seem to have a great process already though 😊
Lock integration through Airbnb or channel manager is a time saver. The ability to set, program, and remove guest codes without your interaction lets you as a host focus on more important things. Even with one listing it is great to have and is an important part of your tech stack IMO
I am also a UK based Air Bnb host looking for a Smart lock which will sync with my Air BnB calendar, ideally without relying on a channel manager app
Any news on Air BnB integrating with any particular lock brands in the UK ?
Thanks,
Stephen, London
