Spray sunscreen cleaning tips

After my last guest, the parts of the bathroom floor not covered by a rug were coated in a sticky film that was impossible to clean. I tried a dawn liquid and vinegar solution (which left a slippery coat on top of the sticky one), I scrubbed smaller areas with a magic eraser and made some progress, but it is maddening. 

I assumed they were just applying spray sunscreen on the bathroom but who knows what it is!

Im going to try an oil-based gentle cleaner but I’m afraid ill damage the flooring. 

any one have this problem before?  Thank you!

We use a product called Krud Kutter for problems like this. It is gentle at the same time as it is highly persuasive even for old burned on stuff on pans and casseroles. In your situation I would try it on your sticky floor, a small spot to start with.

I would not use Magic Eraser, it has removed the finish on wood, for us. Good Luck!

Hi @Brenda105  - here's a few other things to also try:

goo-gone, this does a good job with sticky stuff and doesn't seem to damage the surface, but try it out on a small area. we use all over the place and have had success.

rock doctor - especially good for countertops/tile with watermarks, or something adhered and doesn't damage the countertop.

baking soda - could help remove from hard surfaces like tile or countertop material.
