How do I make it clear that my space is a studio? It is a mother-in-law suite with a separate entrance and en suite bathroom. There are no shared spaces with the main house (where I live). Currently the listing says I have a bedroom which is not entirely true because it is all one space.

I’d suggest updating your listing title and description to highlight that it’s a studio setup. For example, instead of saying “1 bedroom,” you could phrase it as “Private Studio with Ensuite Bathroom and Separate Entrance.” In the description, be very clear: “This is an open-plan studio space with a comfortable sleeping area, en suite bathroom, and private entrance. There are no shared spaces with the main house.”

Guests really appreciate clarity up front, so adding a floor plan or a few wide-angle photos can also help show that it’s one open space rather than a traditional bedroom. This way expectations are clear, and it avoids confusion later.

Airbnb App Instructions:

1. Open the Airbnb app and go to your listing.
2. Tap Listing Editor.
3. Select Photos.
4. Scroll to find the photo category labeled “Bedroom.”
5. Tap the three dots (•••) or edit option, then choose Remove or Unassign from Bedroom.

This way, your listing will reflect that the space is a studio with an open layout rather than a separate 1 bedroom.
