Airbnb Open Update

Hi everyone,

Many of you are eager for news about the next Airbnb Open, and while we can’t yet share details about where in the world it will be, we can tell you that it will be in 2018.

After three fantastic years of Airbnb Open gatherings in San Francisco, Paris, and Los Angeles, we’ve decided to take more time to plan the next festival of hosting. We’re working on the most innovative and inviting experience yet.

We’ll announce our host city and dates soon and cannot wait to host you for Airbnb Open 2018.

It is great you are excited about the next Airbnb Open (me too!). I don't have any more details about the dates or location at the moment, as soon as I do I will be sure to share them here with you.

It sure would be nice to know what, where and if Airbnb is planning another Open for us.  I have been to the one in Paris, France, in 2015,  which was cut short due to the terrorist attacks, would be nice to do another one to Paris so we can go back and enjoy it the way it was set up and meant to be.

I also have been to the one in Los Angeles, California last year! LOVED it!  VERY helpful and great to be able to connect with other hosts from around the world. 

We look forward to going to the next one.  Would be great if Airbnb would plan another one soon.

I remember when I was at the Airbnb Open in Paris several years ago now, sitting in the Keynote area waiting for a talk to start and I was surrounded by hosts from Australia, it was incredible that so many hosts had travelled all that way and it looked like they were having a wonderful time. 🙂

It will be great to have ot in Egypt and we are ready to be airbnb agent there.

Will be attending the 2018 wherever it is but do need to know approximate dates so I can forward plan. 2018 is just around the corner. Location isn't the problem but scheduling my calendar is.

A location and dates for AO18, haven't been announced yet, but as soon as they are the news will be shared will the whole community and I will update you all here in the Community Center. Hopefully, it won't been too long now and you can start to plan you year a little more. 🙂

@Lizzie   As you can probably imagine, there are many people approaching everyone on Social Media (including me) haha - as well on the CC here asking about the ABB Open and the updates needed in order for many to plan their participation.

I noticed that quite a few people have posted here on this thread with concerns and questions, but dont' know how to properly tag you with the @ symbol, so I am taking it upon myself to help them as I know just how busy you are.

At this time, January 16, 2018,  there has been no announcement about when or where the ABB open will be. Once that information is made available, I can guarantee you will find out if you have your account settings on to receive emails from Airbnb.  Part of the problem is, that many hosts do not check their settings and do not receive emails from Airbnb.  Since I am a Co-Host to many, I always teach my hosts about their settings.  Do they want guests messages also sent to their emails as a back up?  Do they want to receive the  Airbnb newsletter?  These are the many things a host can click on or opt out of in their account communication settings.  

That being said, make sure that all of you check your ACCOUNT SETTINGS.  This will ensure that you get the world wide email sent to you once the email is created to make the announcement about the exciting impending ABB conference.

And yes, like you all,  I am on pins and needles about where it will be since I was unable to attend last year due to surgery and hosting numerous guests as well.  However, like many of you, I am hoping ABB announces it soon as I am already getting bookings for May 2018 and typically the ABB OPEN has always been in November.  I want to block the dates so I can attend.

settings.  🙂

And yes, Lizzie,  I will also announce the ABB Open on all of my social media accounts.
