DETAILS

Share your story starting November 17, 2016. The contest deadline for submissions will be December 16th, 2016.

Submit stories or read stories. Learn more about the contest rules attached. Stories must have a minimum of 200 words and must contain a title.

*Updated: If possible, please include two photos with your entry (this is not a requirement for submission).

PRIZES

One 1st prize of $12,000 USD

One 2nd prize of $8,000 USD

One 3rd prize of $5,000 USD

SELECTING WINNERS

Winners will be selected based on the originality and creativity of the story submitted as well as the spirit of the submission in the way it relates to hospitality, social impact and experiences on Airbnb?

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.  Open only to attendees, 18 or older, registered as a host user of Airbnb at the time of participation.  Skill contest.  Judges’ decisions determine winners.  Entry deadline 11:59:59 p.m. San Francisco time on 12/16/2016.  Submitted stories may be used by Airbnb for promotional purposes.  Additional terms apply.   See Official Rules below.

Q: How many times can I submit a story?

A:  Please only submit one story.

Q: Can I edit my story submission?

A: You may not edit your story after submission.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of photos I can upload or video link submissions?

A: Not at this time. We look forward to what you have to share!

Hello!

I also submitted my story, but when I click  the link that confirmed my submission I receive "Article Not Found".

Can you please confirm that the story has been received?

I apologize if this has been a very redundant answering process- just a little bit nervous that the hours I spent writing my host story did not fail in the online submission.

Hello everyone,

Today is the last chance to submit your stories for the 2016 contest! 

We have had some wonderful entries so far, thank you all for taking the time to submit them.

If you haven't entered your story yet and would like to, you still have until the deadline which is 11:59:59 p.m. San Francisco time (PST) today (12/16/2016). You will find all of the T&Cs on the first post in this thread.

Also, due to the questions being asked here in this thread. If you are experiencing an issue with the form, for example you receive an error message such as 'correct highlighted errors and try again', I believe this is a log-in issue. Please double-check you are logged in properly to the Community Center with you host account (your name and photo image should appear in the top right-hand corner of the page) before trying to submit your story. The form will correctly show like this: 

Plus, you should also see a little camera icon on your post tool bar, to upload any photos your wish to include:

Lastly, once submitted, your story will go into a private area and therefore please don't worry if you don't see it, as it won't be visible for you or other member to view at this time.

   Apologies in advance, but we couldn't be sure if our submission went through and redid it since it seemed to have timed out the first time.   If your team happens to see a duplicate from us, sorry!  Not sure if you might be able to check this from your end?

    Also, hope you can see our content for the 'Share A Little About Yourself' field since it seemed frozen in yellow highlight, and we can't be sure the text inserted properly upon submission.  If you could let us know, that would be terrific.   Thank you and Cheers,  Laura and Bob

Please help. I have tried submitting my story But I recieve a banner at the top that says "Correct the highlighted errors and try again." Under "Choose a topic" it says "Please select a board to continue." but there is no drop down menu for a board. This field is not active at all. I have tried this in a couple browsers just in case. Same issue.

Also, while it is suggested to also submit images, there is only an option for adding a link for a video. I do not have a video, just an image.

I've been trying to upload my story for about 30 minutes now - without luck. I keep getting an error message to correct highlighted fields - but there are no highlighted fields. The deadline is approaching so is there any other way I can submit my story? Thanks for your help!
