How Airbnb.org is supporting hosts and residents affected by LA wildfires

Airbnb.org, in partnership with 211 LA, is providing free, temporary housing for those displaced or forced to evacuate due to wildfires in Los Angeles County.

This initiative is made possible through funding from Airbnb.org and the generosity of hosts— with some  providing  their homes to those in need for free or at a discount.

Temporary housing for hosts

  • If your primary residence is impacted by these wildfires and you need emergency housing, please complete this form.
  • If you know someone in need of emergency housing due to the wildfires, they can  request support by filling out this intake form with 211 LA.

Providing support

Hosts who are interested in  offering support, whether through discounted stays or donations, can reach out to Airbnb.org. 100 percent of contributions directly fund emergency housing for those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires and other global crises.

Wildfires in Los Angeles not only take lives, homes, and natural landscapes; they also destroy stories, traditions, and everything that forms part of a community's cultural identity. Culture is not just art or tangible heritage; it is the day-to-day lives of people, their connections, and their way of inhabiting the world.

Kudos to Airbnb.org for offering free housing to thousands of affected people, showing that hospitality can be a powerful tool for rebuilding what’s been lost. As a host and advocate for conscious hospitality, I believe our task isn’t just about providing accommodation. We are part of a social fabric that needs strengthening, especially in times of crisis.

If you can help, sign up and donate to Airbnb.org. Because with every act of solidarity, we also save an essential part of our shared culture. 💪 Thank you!

Hi @Paulina430,

Thank you for your generosity in wanting to help during this challenging time. There are two meaningful ways you can support those affected by the wildfires: You can contribute by offering free or discounted temporary housing to those displaced by the wildfires or by donating to support emergency stays.

To get started, please visit Airbnb.org. From there, you can either sign up to list your space as a host for emergency housing or make a donation to support this effort. Your kindness truly embodies the spirit of our hosting community. ❤️

We lost 2 properties to the devastating fire  -we Airbnb the houses in Malibu.  We have made Airbnb a large sum of money. I was sent a note by various agencies that Airbnb was offering an assistance to fire victims. I applied and was told it was denied because I wasn't in the area. I am furious ands as usual you can't call anyone at Airbnb that has the power to change this outrageous and hurtful  text.   They should be reaching out to Super hosts and have a designated phone number for Super Host Fire Victims rather dismiss us!

Please keep an eye on your messages and phone, as we want to ensure that you receive the support you need.

Wishing safety to you and your family.
