Airbnb Services are incredible services to make any stay more special. Guests can now upgrade their stay with services like a private chef or personal trainer—right at their Airbnb.* We’re launching in 260 cities with 10 categories: chefs, photography, massage, spa treatments, personal training, hair, makeup, nails, prepared meals, and catering. Services are vetted for quality, taking into account criteria like the service host’s knowledge, education, and reputation.
We’re introducing completely reimagined Airbnb Experiences—hosted by locals who know their city best. Guests have new ways to find and book experiences, giving them even more reasons to visit your city. Activities include unique tours, tastings, outdoor activities, workshops, and more. Experiences are vetted for quality, with a focus on hosts’ knowledge, reputation, and authenticity.
We’ve rebuilt the app for hosts to include everything you need to manage your home, service, or experience. All-new tools make it even easier to manage reservations, stay on top of scheduling, and grow your business.

Services worden gecontroleerd op kwaliteit, waarbij wordt gekeken naar onder meer de kennis, opleiding en reputatie van de servicehost.
We introduceren de volledig vernieuwde Airbnb Experiences, activiteiten georganiseerd door locals die de stad kennen als hun broekzak. Gasten kunnen activiteiten op meer manieren vinden en boeken, waardoor ze nog meer redenen hebben om jouw regio te bezoeken. Activiteiten kunnen unieke rondleidingen, proeverijen, buitenactiviteiten, workshops en nog veel meer zijn. 1. regulations, regulations, regulations- homes being used for services
2. if we opt out dues the algorithm pull us down
3. Are the services available for India?

...But only in the App, not available yet on desktop. Now if we can just get that shortcut link to Arrival Guide!

I usually only use a desktop computer and never knew Airbnb had added this feature? Who knows when, as we weren't notified. Here is what it looks like in the App. Go to

perhaps I’ve misunderstood how these services are intended to work but there is a very fundamental issue surrounding liability, insurance and legislation with such a concept - at least in Australia. As the owner of a property used for short term rental we owe a duty of care to our guests. It’s already quite difficult and expensive to obtain insurance for holiday rentals in Australia.
These policies do not and would not cover such additional services, whilst technically the host would not be the one offering such services, they could be held vicariously liable for any consequences. They could also be held liable for any injury or loss suffered by these third parties entering the property which their insurance policies would not respond to. That aside we do not allow third parties or visitors beyond staying guests to enter our private property where our holiday accomodation is situated, there is local legislation and tight regulation around use of Airbnb, which would not, I believe, allow such additional services…
The same in Italy.
We're all very worried: we must opt-out these added experiences, and we all are worried to slide down in search results

I would like to ask a few important questions that are of great concern to many hosts, myself included.
1. False and damaging reviews.
There are countless reports online from hosts who have been harmed by false or retaliatory reviews. Even when the content is clearly unfounded, Airbnb often refuses to remove them, stating that they “do not violate the review policy.”
This has serious consequences: hosts are penalized in the algorithm, and in some cases face suspensions or even permanent blocks, causing real emotional and financial damage.
This creates frustration and mistrust in the platform, and many hosts are reconsidering whether to continue.
Do you intend to review this policy so that retaliatory or blatantly false reviews can be removed fairly and transparently?
2. House rules and host protection.
House rules are often hard for guests to find.
Wouldn’t it be helpful to implement a mandatory pop-up where the guest must check a box to confirm they have read and accepted the rules? This could also include a reminder that any rule violations or complaints about issues not mentioned in the rules may result in consequences.
Additionally, when a guest violates the rules, support should always defend the host: unfortunately, this does not always happen.
3. Airbnb Experiences.
I admit I haven’t fully understood how this works.
Are Experiences only available to current guests staying in one’s listings?
Can they be hosted in collaboration with other hosts or third parties?
Is it possible to co-organize activities with local experts or others who offer different kinds of experiences?
In the past, I’ve organized various events: horseback rides, sailing trips, therapeutic and stage hypnosis, group meditations, historical city tours (I speak several languages and know my city’s art and history well), Latin dance nights with lessons and club outings, traditional cooking, mountain hikes, themed evenings, and more.
I’d love to know if and how these kinds of experiences can be offered, even outside the property and in cooperation with others.

I agree with you 100% on these questions and would add this:
Educate new users on the platform. Maybe a 3 minute video to instruct guests and customers on what is EXPECTED of them on the platform...
Currently, new users are our most feared users because they don't read all they need to in order to be properly informed.
in addition to users being able to treat themselves to an airbnb vetted personal chef or portrait photographer.....it would be great to see the new system also allowing users to make donations through airbnb to locally recognised and vetted charities.....particularly charities supporting the homeless. and obviously without airbnb taking the 15% cut.

Regarding the new “Services” category, there is a fundamental issue concerning liability, insurance, and legal compliance, at least here in Spain.
Even if the host is not the one directly providing these services, they could still be held liable in the event of injury or damage caused by third parties entering the property. Furthermore, short-term rental insurance policies typically do not cover such situations.
Additionally, I do not allow access to my property to anyone other than officially registered guests.
Beyond the legal and insurance concerns, we now see that Airbnb is promoting services such as private chefs, massages, and makeup artists. Honestly, Airbnb seems to have completely lost touch with reality. Who is going to be responsible for damage in the kitchen? Who will cover makeup stains or massage oil on the furniture?
It is already extremely difficult to get Airbnb to properly handle damages caused by guests. Now, Airbnb is adding yet another layer of risk and confusion by enabling users to book in-home services through the platform.
As far as I’m concerned, I will be clearly stating in my listing that no services purchased via Airbnb will be allowed in the apartment.
I fear that guests who have a negative experience with a service, will then let that affect their review of the property as well, even though the Listing Host has nothing to do with the person providing the service. I can already see guests complaining they overpaid for what they received and then mention this in the review of the listing. Considering how difficult it has been to remove retaliatory reviews lately (even though the review clearly violates Airbnb policies) and do foresee some major issues with this.
Liability Issues/Damage/Safety/Local Regulations
I can also see the cleanup issues with Chefs and Catering and the amount of trash produced and potential damages to property. Who will pay for additional cleaning after a service if it is required? The guest? The person hosting the service? There are also regulatory issues regarding food service and catering in many jurisdictions. Also, who is responsible for food safety (keeping items cold/hot to avoid bacteria)? What if a guest gets ill as a result of a catering or chef service? What if the guest has food allergies (nuts/eggs. etc.) and the food brought into the home contains these allergens? What if the caterer providing the service decides to setup tables/chairs in an outdoor space on a lawn and ruins landscaping/grass? What if a photographer moves furniture around to get those instagram shots for guests? Who is responsible for returning furniture to original locations and preventing damage to the floors, etc.? The list goes on.
Services Not At an Airbnb Listing
I see nothing wrong with someone wanting to book a service on Airbnb and have it provided at a location other than the Airbnb; personal home, business, etc. That said, I see a minefield for Hosts allowing services inside their properties on Airbnb.
