You’ve told us that managing reservations from home or on the go could be easier and more consistent. As we did with changes to your reservations list, we’ve listened to your feedback, studied hosts’ concerns raised with the community-support team, and run research studies to understand how we could improve your experience. Here’s a sneak peek of upcoming changes built on your input.
Consistent information wherever you go
Soon, whether you’re managing reservations on the Airbnb app or website, you’ll have the same set of reservation details available. What’s more, anywhere you see a reservation—in your calendar, the message thread, your dashboard, or your reservations list—you’ll be able to take action right from that screen, which means it will be faster and more efficient for you to handle each reservation.
More details about reservations and guests
We’re giving you more specific information about the status of each reservation. And you’ll also get more details about the guest associated with each reservation without having to click into their profile. You’ll know how long they’ve been on Airbnb, what languages they speak, and if they’re a host like you, so you can make confident booking decisions and interact with your guests efficiently and quickly, all from one screen.
More payment details
You’ve told us that you wanted your expected payout dates to be even more visible. Numerous hosts called our community support team about this, so we made sure payout dates were easier to find. We’ve added a link to your transaction history and expected payout dates alongside every reservation.
Answers to your frequently asked questions, right where you need them
By studying the types of questions that come up most often for inquiries and reservations, we’ve been able to anticipate what answers might be most helpful to you based on the reservation you’re currently managing. We’ve added links to reservation-specific FAQs at the bottom of every reservation so you can get the information you need, when you need it.
More consistent tools and views
Previously, if you had Instant Book turned on for a listing, you could only hold dates when you pre-approved a guest on the website. Now you can do so in the app too. And the private notes feature, which was previously available only in the calendar, is now available anywhere you see a reservation.
All these improvements are coming your way in the next few months, and we hope they help make quick work of managing your reservations. Thanks to all the hosts who gave us feedback and joined focus groups. Let us know what you think of these changes and others you’d like to see.
You don't have to decline, you can change the booking details (guest number, dates, etc..) or send a special offer anytime but before they check in time. Opening the booking details there are options like change reservation or special offer. Once you sent it, they have to accept.
Each country and in some cases, cities, have their own tax rules, so Airbnb can't be responsible for handling the minutiae of that. Hosts asking for any form of cash I would have thought was not acceptable, but hey, as I said, each place has its own tax system, which in some cases appear complex.
Our accountant works out the tax issues that may arise, so far with no shocks.
All this has made things more complicated and much more time consuming.
We have just listed less than a month ago so I don't know what it was like before. However, the set up seems very disjointed and illogical, because they keep asking one questions about your property afterwards, such as do you have a stove, or are you on the beach. Why don't they get all the questions done right from the beginning?
My website is not letting me hold dates? Where is the button? It vanished?
Holding dates is just for inquires. On phone there is the option when accepting the inquiry. On the website if you go to the booking detals, there is a button for "holding dates" what you can switch on if you would like to, but it will only hold it until the 24h expire.
From “Heavensent Beach House”
i have someone trying to reserve
August 8-15 - 2020 - the original reservation request
expired but you have blocked those dates.
He would like to reserve that time but neither one of
us are able to open that up for him.
Im pretty frustrated at not being able to

there is a support phone number and they answer immediately. Also if you click the help button, after few options there is a chat option. Airbnb answered me every time within an hour. They have a great support.
Very thoughtful ! Please can you consider paying the Hosts in the same way that the client pays you. IE when a 25% is paid to confirm the booking the Hosts should be paid that fee less your costs and the balance paid when the guests pays their second payment. This facilitates our cash flow and allows us to pamper our guests even more!!!

You say you are trying to make things easier; I have several times told you that I wish to withdraw from hosting but you keep sending me requests to host, followed up, after I have responded to the applicant informing them of my position, with requests to contact and confirm with the applicant. Why not make things easy for yourselves by listening to and responding to requests such as mine?
I am a co host and when I go to accept or decline, or print out the itinerary details it says I don't have access. I am able to accept or decline from the inbox on the air bnb site, but not through the link that gets emailed to me, which is really annoying. I am not sure how to change it to give me access, which is really annoying because I had a routine down and now it won't let me do it that way.
Hi Sally, I also have a ta3x question!
I'm a host and someone just booked two rooms for next week but the rate is lower then what I was expecting. Where do I see how this is figured out? Cheers! Virginia
