Upcoming Beta: new Today homepage

Hi Folks, 

In May 2021, we launched the Today tab for our core host community. We’re excited to extend that experience to our pro tools users. This is a new, cohesive homepage experience that brings the web and native experience together, with reservation management at its core. 

The Today tab overall includes:

• Booking inquiry and request details
• Current and upcoming guest reservation details
• Quick links to manage listings on the go
• Hosting News & Updates
• Priority actions & alerts

For Pro Tools users, the Today tab is intended to:

• Support high volume of reservation-related requests  & inquiries
• For hosts with 6+ active listings, support for high volume of reservations through filters (Currently hosting, Arriving soon, Checking out, Next 7 days)
• Streamline the navigation on the web

How the Beta works: 

1. When the new feature is available next week, we’ll activate it on your hosting accounts.
2. We’re available to answer questions & provide any help needed to take advantage of the new experience. 
3. We’re standing by to hear any suggestions or feedback you have to continually make the experience better.

@Rakesh36 It all looks pretty and seems to work. A lot of white space and I miss the old header that used to have this months earnings etc but I guess I can live without this.

What I cannot find is where the filters are as per your post above:

Hi @Mike-And-Jane0 ! Thanks for sharing some thoughts. 

•  The entry point to earnings and other stats are grouped together & is available through the  top navigation "Insights" tab (on web) or the bottom Insights icon (on mobile). 
• Currently, the filters show up for hosts with 6 or more listings, intended to make navigation across higher reservation volume easier.   With 4 listings,  that is why you are not seeing them. That said, are you able to view your upcoming reservations with ease?  If having these state filters would still be meaningful, thats good feedback for us.

@Rakesh36 I think it is fine for me not to have the filters but isn't it more complex coding to not have these for smaller numbers of listings rather than just having them available to all? Also for Customer Support it surely makes their job harder (and frankly they are pretty incapable today) if you have two different pro-tools systems depending on number of listings.

Hi @Mike-And-Jane0 ! for sure. We will definitely look into this- the implementation is based on quick & easy navigation for when there is a lot to scan through on a daily basis. Also to avoid a lot of empty filters when it's not that busy. Great feedback for us to follow up on .

No glitches I've come across yet but it is quite an adjustment not to have the today and tomorrow check ins and check outs readily available. It's challenging to scroll through the full reservation list to review my incoming and outgoing guests.

Thanks for the feedback @Ashley-and-Shelley0 !  Under the "Your Reservations" Section, you should see selectable filters such as "Arriving soon" and "Checking out" . By tapping on those, you can see which guests are checking in tomorrow and are about to check out. Let us know if that is makes it easier to scan for this information.

Unfortunately "arriving soon" only shows reservations arriving tomorrow, not today. "Checking out" only shows today and I can't review who's checking out tomorrow. "Next 7 days" only shows arrivals within the next week not check outs. I really liked the previous home page that gave a complete overview of who was checking in/out today & tomorrow.

@Scott @Rakesh36  No issues with the new page at all.  It took less than a minute to realize more details were under "menu."  In fact, the page makes it easier to get to the info I need.  My only minor quibble is a carry-over from the last re-design - that "earnings" is buried way down the list under "insights."  When you run a business you want to keep an eye on earnings and transaction history.  Does Airbnb think it's bad manners to talk about money?  If I wasn't earning anything I wouldn't do this.  🙂

Overall, very clean and useful.  The inbox filters are helpful, and the four boxes at the bottom of the Today page make it easy to get to settings that previously one had to go to the listings page to find.  Thanks for the good work!

Thank you @Ann72 - appreciate the feedback.  We are looking to get those "earnings" view on the new page soon!
