Can someone please help me optimize for the new amazing views category search feature? We have a listing that guests tell us has amazing views and this is often referenced in our reviews. However, when I zoom in on map search over my property whilst selecting amazing views we don't appear. I've got views referenced in my listing title, it's referenced in many of my pictures and as I say likewise in guest reviews. I started to wonder if there is a category tag limited for any listing as we do appear under Barn and Countryside too. It is unusual as I would say that the view is the main feature when we speak with guests. Just wondering if I am missing a trick and anyone has any constructive advice?
HI you can select View then select the from the types of views on offer when you review your Listing settings. I am trying to get listed under Beaches and note 3 minute walk to beach as I have seen this on other sites but can't find the setting as we don't have a Beach View. I have said Park View as it faces the forest.
Did this work for you ?
I have 6 checkboxes on the section 'panoramic views' on my listing, photos showing an amazing view, view mentioned on the title and description, also mentioned by many of the guests' comments...
...and yet my listing disappears if you push choose 'amazing view" filter in my city !?
I have called AirBnB support 3 times already about this and can't get a satisfactory/effective answer from them.
I've read in another thread :
"Listings are categorized algorithmically so it isn’t possible to categorize your own listing. However, you can increase your likelihood of appearing in a Category by making sure you have selected all of the relevant amenities and by highlighting them with front-page worthy photos."
it scares me when companies can't master the 'artificial intelligence' thy are using and don'y feel responsible for it.
I don't know if this is still the case, but a few months ago, I was told that we could contact Airbnb and ask if our listings could be placed in specific categories. They don't have to agree, but they are supposed to review it and give you an answer within seven days.
I did this and got all three of my listings added to the three categories that were relevant to them. However, I have to add that it did not help my views/bookings. In fact, my views went down after that!
PS I am not saying that the views went down because they were added to the categories. I suspect they were going to go down anyway because the Airbnb algorithm since the Summer Release was hiding my listings or pushing them down in the searches.
I am saying that being in categories won't necessarily help you that much, but I suppose that can depend on what you are offering. One of the moderators here posted on another thread that only a very small percentage of guests use categories in their searches.
Hi @Ben-and-Myrrhine0 ! Did you figured this out? I am having exactly the same issue here!
