We live in an area with very poor mobile reception. When the weather is poor, the only reception we get is outside in the rain!
We use a password manager, with a 48bit passwords so feel pretty secure without 2FA. However it seems impossible to turn 2FA off and often means it can take us a day and a half before we can reply to guest (or prospective guests) messages.
@Pat6671 2 factor authentication is not superfluous even with a complex password, because there are many ways for someone to get ahold of your password. Brute force is just one of many ways.
Well, if a hacker is good enough to break (by 'brute force') a 48 bit random password, then they are surely good enough to spoof my mobile phone number, making 2FA useless?
Sorry if I misunderstand, but as far as I know the authentication is only when logging in. Are you manually logging out of your account? If you stay logged in on the same device it should not require authentication, or am I missing something?
