Hi everyone!
I’ve been hosting for the past 7 months and have gained 38 five-star reviews — it’s been such a rewarding experience! Now I’m really interested in becoming a co-host to help other hosts manage their listings, especially with communication, guest experience, and turnovers.
Could anyone share how you got started as a co-host?
Do you find co-hosting through Airbnb’s official platform, or is it more about networking with local hosts?
Any tips or advice would be really appreciated! 🙏
Thanks in advance!

I started out by helping a friend with her listings and learning the ropes for about 2.5yrs. Found out I had a knack for creating listings and optimizing exisiting ones. My friend referred me to others and it went from there. I started my own short & mid-term rental consulting business and have been doing that for several years. I really specialize in creating new listings and optimizing existing listings on Airbnb, Vrbo and Furnished Finder for clients. Usually help the launch new listings and assist in improving exisiting ones. Each platform has it's own quirks and learning curve, so having experience on other platforms helps.
When I was Co Costing Airbnb was just starting their Co Host platform and have since revamped it. I have not used that platform, but nothing says you can't try to get accepted on that and work getting clients outside that as well.
My suggestion is to spend a lot of time doing your own research (YouTube, books, blogs, etc.) on STRs and MTRs. Since many Hosts are facing restrictions on STRs from local goverments and are being required to only Host 30+ nights, I would learn as much as you can about the Mid Term space to make your services more marketable. The mid-term market is seeing a lot of growth right now, so having expertise in that area will also help you with clients.

Hi @Ehzad20!
It's a pleasure to have you here, and I'm so glad that Joan replied to you! As a co-host, she has a wealth of experience and valuable information to share. Were you able to check her comment?
I'm sure you'll appreciate her help! 🤗

Congrats on your success so far! Many hosts start co-hosting by networking locally—reaching out to friends, neighbors, or other hosts in the area—though Airbnb’s platform also allows you to offer co-hosting services officially. Focus on highlighting your strengths, like guest communication, turnovers, and creating great experiences, and build a reputation through reliability and professionalism. Offering trial support or smaller tasks initially can help establish trust with other hosts before taking on full listings.
Hi @Grace1408!
That's great advice! Since your profile says you are a guest, where does your experience as a host come from? I'd love to hear your story!
Best,
Alex
