Calendar is opening by itself!?

Calendar is opening by itself!?

Lately something weird is happening to my calendar. Three times already i found out certain dates in my calendar to be opened even though i did not open them. Why can that be? I am afraid someone will book those dates but as they are in the winter time it is not possible for me to accept guests. Can it be that the software has an error and opening the dates by itself? Best regards, Sara

Did you check your "availability window" setting ?

@Emiel1 Yes i changed that even sooner so only 12 months ahead people can book. But the dates opened in november and i close the house in november.  I closed the dates and they reopened 3 times. I asked the support about that and i got a kind answer that if it happens again and i get the booking by accident they will take into account and ask the guest to cancel the reservation.

Hello @Sara11709, I’m glad you got some help from the support team.

Please let us know if this keeps happening, so I can reach out to some fellow hosts who may have additional ideas or workarounds to prevent it from happening again.

If you do not want bookings in november, then setting the "availability window" to 12 months is still too long.

Maybe set it to "all dates not available" and open calender manually until november.

The answer of Airbnb support is rediculous.

Perhaps this might affect the algoritm. I think 12 months is minimum, especially end of season. People sometimes book in advance.

Yes.  This happened to me.  I'd blocked the whole year.  I received an email to say a guest had booked, and on checking the calendar had been opened up.  I immediately cancelled the booking and blocked the calendar again.  But Airbnb have fined me 10%! Support were unable to give a satisfactory answer and infered I was lying.

Really? That is quite bad. I wrote to the support few times about that. every time it happened. And i got 2 positive answers. In case it happens it seem as they will solve it. It is bad for the host and the guest. Obviously is some softwear problem. I hope it doesn't happen to you again.
Best wishes.

Hi @Alan328

I'm sorry to hear about this! When did this incident occur? Did you ask the Support team to investigate what happened in regards to your calendar when you talked to them?

Thanks,

Emilie
