Hi,
I’ve been having a calendar problem for the past few months. I check off dates that I can’t host, and the next thing those dates I block off, are available again. Or alternately I open some dates I want to host, and those dates become unavailable. I know I need to host for at least 30 days, but something g is wrong with the calendar.
Airbnb has also mentioned they are having a problem with the ‘calendar’ from their end.
just would like to know if any of you are also experiencing ‘calendar’ problems!
Thanks!
Sandy
Hi @Sandy716 😊,
thank you for sharing your issue with other hosts. Have you heard back from the Customer Support team?
Many hosts discussed a similar issue earlier where one of our experienced hosts @Joan2709 highlighted a solution to update availability window. You can check that conversation here : 👉 Availability window not working on one property..
It would be great to double check if your toggle in availability window is on or off as Joan suggested.
I am also sharing a Help Center article in case it helps you solve this issue 👉 How hosts can choose how far in advance guests can book.
Please keep us posted if it helps resolve the calendar problem!

@Elisa My calendar has not been working properly for a couple of months. Dates that shouldn't be blocked (weren't blocked by me) are blocked. Dates that should be open are not available from the guest screen where they would make a booking.
Airbnb support does not help. First, they act as if there is not a problem and try to close the case. When I insist there is a problem and get a different support person, they say "engineers are working on it." And close the case.
Hi @Amy-and-Sean1 😊,
Thank you for letting me know!
I'm truly sorry about this situation. Would you be able to share a screenshot of the issue?
It will help our team of experts better understand the situation.
Warm regards, 🌻

@Elisa I sent screen shots via messages to support. Do you know if others are having these issues?
It happens to me from time to time that I notice dates unintentionally blocked. I use the multi-calendar and I set some restrictions on the regular calendar tab as well . Sometimes it's hard to figure out why nights are blocked, but removing restrictions on other nights solves it in the end.
In your case the calendar does have some restrictions and some of them may be clashing. Your calendar looks open, but some date combinations aren't bookable. There are 5 and 28-day minimums as well as check-in restrictions. You can click the Listings tab and then click "View" - select dates you want bookable from the guest view. It shows you a brief reason why you can't choose a specific date.
If some date ranges still don't work as you want them to, post them here and we'll try to help you to figure it out.
I can't say that there isn't some technical problem on your calendar, but in my case it's always been something that I could either fix or eventually understand from my side.
(If you're also using 3rd party software to manage your calendar, the issue could be there and not on Airbnb)
Thank you Shelley159. Can you tell me what check-in restrictions you see? I am not using any third party software and I only use the monthly calendar view to make changes. I appreciate your input.
I can book 5-night minimum stays up to the point where I check in on 5 April and check out on 10 April. For stays starting from 6 April, it tells me the closest check-in date is 5 April. All dates from 6 April seem to be marked 28 days minimum, but I can't select check-in on 6 April for 28 days. When I click on 1 May as a starting date, it tells me it's check-out only. From 2 May I can again book a minimum 28-day stay. The calendar is blocked from 3 June (possibly due to a 3-month availability window with no option to request dates further out).
I'm not sure how you want it set up, but I can see that there may be some frustrating availability issues that are hard to figure out. Because you have only one property and only 3 months are bookable, it's probably easiest to just clear all restrictions (minimum, minimums per day of week, maximum, custom trip lengths, check-in days - make sure you go everywhere on the availability tab) and start over from scratch.
If you have Instant Book turned on, turn it off while you do this.
There are times when I don't have the energy to figure out exactly what combination of which issues is causing a specific night to be blocked - I sometimes just delete all the rules anywhere near it until it's bookable again. Not the right approach, but it solves the issue with minimum frustration.
Thanks, @Shelley159 for your detailed response. I did go ahead and clear everything and re-set, and I think it's okay now. It was blocking a couple of days that I did not block myself, and this had happened another time recently. Fingers crossed it will keep working okay.
yes ! wont let me block them when try repeatedly doesnt give that option
Can you post screen shots of what happens when trying to block dates? What error message are you seeing?
