Hi, I need help with my calendar syncing to our website. Airbnb only syncs 24 months, and this is too much for mobile users. Can anyone help? Thanks. Jillian
Hi @Jillian208 👋
Great question the Airbnb calendar feed (iCal link) does indeed sync about 24 months of data by default, and that range can’t currently be shortened from Airbnb’s side. It’s set automatically for all hosts.
If the long date range is slowing down your website calendar, you’ve got a couple of workarounds you could try:
• Use your website’s booking plugin settings (if you’re using WordPress, Lodgify, Wix, etc.) most of them let you limit how far ahead the imported iCal events display, even if the full 24-month feed is synced.
• Create a filtered calendar view if your web tool supports it, display only the next 6 or 12 months to mobile users while keeping the full sync in the background.
• Sync less often some web builders let you reduce how often the Airbnb feed updates, which can improve mobile loading speeds.
Unfortunately, Airbnb doesn’t provide a setting to adjust the export range itself, so any limit has to be managed from your website side.
Hopefully one of those options helps simplify the display for your visitors! 😊
Thank you, I'll give these options a try 🤞
The review syncing also has the same problem on mobiles!
Hi @Jillian208 👋
Ah yes - the review feed can behave similarly, depending on the website tool you’re using. Airbnb doesn’t currently provide an official public API for reviews, so most website integrations pull them in using third-party tools or widgets.
Because of that, reviews can load slowly or look cluttered on mobile if too many are displayed at once. A few ways to improve it:
• Limit the number of reviews shown on mobile (for example, the 5–10 most recent ones). Many widgets like Elfsight, Trustindex, or Widgetfor let you do this in their settings.
• Use a “load more” button rather than showing all reviews this shortens the page and speeds up loading on smaller screens.
• Check your plugin’s mobile layout most builders (like Wix, WordPress, or Lodgify) allow you to adjust padding or column width specifically for mobile devices.
Airbnb itself doesn’t control how reviews appear outside the platform, so those adjustments need to be made in your website plugin or embedding tool.
Hopefully these tweaks make your mobile version run smoother! 😊
Hi @Jillian208 😊,
Thank you for asking this question here!
Have you been able to follow our host’s suggestion? How is the situation now?
