Cancelling a Reservation

I have a question.

What is the consequence of cancelling a reservation?

Hello @Chandra141

It will depend if the reason for your cancellation falls under Airbnb's extenuating circumstances or if you have proof that your future guests are going to break your house rules.  Otherwise here is the latest policy concerning host cancellations:

If you want more feedback, let us know a bit more of your situation.

Hi @Chandra141, I think it depends on the situation. Does the reservation state that there are no refunds or a partial refund?

I made a booking a couple of months ago with a "No cancellation" policy when I was travelling for work, thinking it wouldn't be an issue to cancel my reservation I previously had at a hotel.

Lo and behold, I couldn't cancel my hotel reservation (had two rooms reserved) so immediately contacted the host about my situation. She thankfully gave me a grace period as it was within 45 mins of reserving, but if I had waited for a day or two, I think my outcome would've been a little different.

Do you mind me asking if you're a guest or a host in this situation?

Hi Jason thank you so much for your response. I am a host.
